We were staying close by and wondered over sadly at the last part of our trip. My Wife had the beet salad with smoked salmon added and I had the clam chowder and crispy shrimp. We both said at the same time that the salad and the chowder were the best of those two dishes we’ve ever had. We’re in our 60’s so we’ve had many other examples to compare. This was one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to. As mentioned the food was the best,our waitress was fantastic and the setting, sitting just outside of the main restaurant was perfect. Heaters were on for when the sun went down and it made for a very enjoyable evening. For return trips to La Jolla we’ll be trying to be close to this restaurant. One of the best.

We had a fabulous meal at Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill! We came here off a recommendation from my best friend who is a local to San Diego so you know it's going to be good. The food was marvelous, the service was friendly, and atmosphere was relaxed and chill. It was a comfortable meal with wonderful flavors. Some highlights and high recommendations: brussel sprouts were amazing! Oysters were fresh and juicy, crispy shrimp was excellent, the linguini was great. Everything we ordered was fantastic actually (take a look at the pics to see what we ordered.). The Hawaiian cheesecake was a perfect ending to an otherwise fantastic meal and experience. 5 stars and two thumbs up for Sandpiper! Thank you to the chef and staff for a truly memorable meal.

Sandpiper has a nice ambiance for a date night. I recommend the corn cake for an appetizer, it’s sweet, a little spicy and delicious. I tried the red baron cocktail which was tasty. I had a hard time selecting a drink because they all sounded good. I had the endive and arugula salad with feta and pistachios with added shrimp for my meal. My one complaint is that the shrimp was in the salty side. Service was good as well.

The food and drinks here were so amazing! But the service was what really made this place stand out from the others. Natalia and Jake were so welcoming, gracious, and friendly. Even though it was our first visit, they instantly made it feel like it was home. We were here for happy hour and had samples of their four different types of oysters, and each were so delicious and splendid. Their draft beer was amazing and served extra cold and quick, just how we like it! They even gave us succulents to celebrate Mother’s Day (how awesome is that?!). We can’t wait to be back to try their dinner menu. We were so impressed by this little gem, and we will recommend this place to our friends and family!

Just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at The Sandpiper. Our waiter was professional and friendly and the food was excellent. We started with the cod croquettes - hot and crispy with a nice creamy sauce. Since it was a Sat night, my husband had the prime rib (only available Fri and Sat nights). It was perfectly cooked and had an awesome smokey flavor. It was served with a skillet of a loaded baked potato, which you can see from the picture, was a meal within itself. I had the pesto pasta and added grilled shrimp.

We had a fantastic meal here. So much so, that we came back again the next night. The truly standout dish that we got was the broccoli with black garlic toum and egg. The fries were also delicious, and we liked the meatballs and the red sauce was very tasty. Everyone loved the brussel sprouts including our kiddo. The only thing I didn't love was the chicken wings. The flavor was very good but they weren't crispy and that's a deal breaker for me. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and we liked the heaters out on the covered patio. We definitely plan to go back!

Went to Sandpiper for a business dinner. The atmosphere, service, and food were all fabulous! I had the Salmon with farro which was phenomenal. We shared the oyster appetizer and a variety of other goodies. Then the table ordered every dessert. The profiterole was my favorite with a tart raspberry vibe and perfect pastry. The wine and drink selection are A. We will definitely be back for the atmosphere and food. Our waiter was also beyond kind because our guest took forever to get through their meal and we were definitely a long time.

Our experience was amazing. We believe our servers name was Tyler. Very helpful and he didn’t steer us wrong. Ask for him!! Oysters were fresh (get the ones from Washington) and try the hot sauce. It was amazing. Dinner was great! We forgot to take pictures. But we got the salmon and the winter salad with chicken. So so good. And dessert was out of this world. chef kiss.
